From Interstate 70, take the Downtown Frederick exit 54 (MD 85/East Street). Head north onto East Street and continue beyond the roundabout. The Visitor Center will be on your left, just beyond the traffic light at South St. Short-term parking is available behind the Visitor Center off of Commerce Street.

If you’re coming from New York, Philadelphia, or Baltimore, access I-70 West from I-695, the Baltimore Beltway. Follow I-70 west to exit 54 in Frederick and turn right off the exit. From Pittsburgh and Western Maryland, take Route I-70 East from Hancock/Hagerstown to exit 54 in Frederick and turn left at the traffic light at the top of the ramp.

For those traveling from Washington, DC and points south, take Route I-270 North to exit 31A and follow Rt. 85. If you’re coming from Central Pennsylvania and points north, take US 15 South to Frederick and follow signs for I-270 South. Then, exit onto I-70 East toward Baltimore.

From Northern Virginia or Harpers Ferry, take US 15 North/340 East to Frederick. Follow signs onto I-70 East toward Baltimore and take the first exit after the I-270 split, exit 54/Rt.85/East Street toward Downtown Frederick.
